Throughout the seven Sundays of Epiphany we will be holding our Coffee with Epiphanies series of discussions. Each week we will focus on one of seven areas of ministry that are open to all.

Adults at St. Peter’s are invited to participate in God through:

• EfM
  "Education for Ministry," is a program developed by the School of Theology of the University of the South.  EfM provides a comprehensive, experiential education in the foundations and message of our Christian faith. Participants commit one year at a time to meet regularly in seminars led by trained mentors. To date St. Peter’s has 4 trained mentors and 28 graduates.
• Brown Bag Theology
  We meet every Tuesday at noon in Mo. Chris' office. Grab a quick sack lunch and come join us for provoking conversation and some light-hearted fun.
• Daughters of the King
  Currently, St. Peter’s has 16 women that are Daughters of the King.  They follow a simple rule of prayer and are committed to service.  Many members knit prayer shawls, which are then blessed in church and taken as symbols and an extension of the embrace of Christ to individuals.
• Adult Choir
  Got a tune? And a bucket? Come sing in the choir. It's easy! We currently meet on Sunday mornings at 9:50 a.m. to run through the music for the day and go over music for special occasions.

 

Ministering in the World

At St. Peter’s we share the love of Christ outside and beyond our doors in the following ways:

• St. Peter's Prison Ministry
  
  The prison ministry at St. Peter's began as a direct result of the experiences of a parishoner who was incarcerated. Currently male inmates at the Bourbon County Detention Center are visited by St. Peter's parishoners weekly. Together, with a Baptist friend, they lead church services for approx. 25 inmates each week.
• The Sunshine DayCare Center
  We share our facilities with the Sunshine DayCare Center, which is a Community Action Project. Click here to find out more about Kentucky's Community Action program. It is a goal of ours to deepen our relationships with the families whose children are in the Migrant Family Headstart Program.
• Mission: Chicken
  As a service to our community, St. Peter's has contracted with Kentucky Fried Chicken to obtain quality, surplus foodstuffs and redistribute them to the Paris Housing Authority, the Paris/Bourbon County Senior Citizen Center, and families whose children attend the Community Action Council's Sunshine DayCare Center. The program has met with much success and many smiles of gratitude which makes for a most pleasant and joyous experience of giving year-round.
• The Well
  The Well is a not-for-profit ministry of the Bourbon County Ministerial Association. The Well is comprised of more than 20 Bourbon County churches working together to provide for those in need of assistance with utility bills and rent. The Well is hosted by Zion Baptist Church.
